Hello, I'm Cailyn! Our Game UI designer. I have begun to create an intuitive and immersive interface for Chick Fight, blending functionality with style. From smooth navigation to dynamic in-game elements, every design choice enhances the player’s experience leading up to the game scene and in the game world. The UI design for the game play screen is designed/currently being designed to keep the fighting action and story front and centre.

CUSTOM ROUND WOODEN ICON BUTTONS

I've added a unique touch to the Chick Fight interface with customized round wooden UI Icon buttons! These buttons provide a rustic design to what will overall be a colorful game interface, enhancing the visual appeal of the game while keeping the user experience intuitive and easy to navigate.

RECTANGULAR TEXT BUTTONS


In addition to our custom round wooden icon buttons, I’ve introduced rectangular text buttons to further improve navigation in Chick Fight. These new buttons provide clear, text-based options for a more versatile and accessible user interface, ensuring that players have the best of both worlds in button design.

DYNAMIC HEALTH BARS

I'’ve enhanced the health bar system with dynamic functionality! As players' health goes up and down, green bricks will fill and deplete the health bar, providing a visual and interactive way to track damage and recovery.

WINNER SHIELDS

Our new winner shields are now textured with various colored woods and accented with elegant gold ribbons, giving each shield a unique, prestigious look. This visual upgrade enhances the sense of accomplishment for players who earn these coveted rewards.

CHARACTER START BARS SHOWCASE ABILITIES AND SPECIALTIES!
Character start bars now display key abilities in Chick Fight! Each bar visually demonstrates the running, pecking, and jumping capacities of your chosen character, as well as their specialty attack. This feature provides players with a clear and intuitive way to understand their character’s strengths right from the start.



LAYERED ICON DESIGNS WITH WOODEN PLANKS
Our layered icon designs bring a rustic charm to Chick Fight! Featuring textured wooden planks, these icons add depth and style to the interface, giving each button a unique, crafted look that enhances the overall visual experience.

ICON VARIATIONS WITH COLORFUL TEAM MARKERS
I’ve introduced a visual example of icon variations with different colored markers for team differentiation! These vibrant markers make it easier to distinguish between teams, enhancing both gameplay clarity and the overall aesthetic. Now, navigating the game is even more intuitive with clear team identification.

CHARACTER SELECTION AND INFO SCREENS
The character selection screen and individual character info screens have been created for a smooth and informative experience! The selection screen offers intuitive navigation, while each character info screen provides detailed stats, abilities, and background, allowing players to make well-informed choices before jumping into the action.

NEW GAME START SCREEN
For the Chick Fight game, I designed a dynamic and engaging start screen that showcases the game’s characters in vertically slanted panels, each with an LED outline. The characters are positioned to face one another, creating a menacing and confrontational vibe, which perfectly captures the game’s intense battle theme. The design emphasizes the competitive nature of the game while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic that draws players in from the moment they launch the game. This screen sets the tone for an exciting, action-packed experience.


PLAYER MODE SELECTION SCREENS
I designed a vibrant Player Mode screen that clearly splits the options between Multiplayer and Single Player. The screen uses bold, colorful invitations that engage players, encouraging them to choose their preferred mode with ease. The design aims to create a sense of excitement and anticipation, with dynamic visuals that emphasize the game's energetic atmosphere. By offering a simple yet inviting interface, I ensured that players could quickly jump into their chosen mode, setting the stage for an immersive gaming experience.




CHARACTER SELECTION SCREENS
I designed two distinct character selection screens: one for Multiplayer and one for Single Player. On both screens, characters are showcased on podiums, each with their stats displayed for easy comparison. The design keeps all eight character icons visible at the bottom of the screen, allowing players to quickly choose their fighter with just a click. The layout was crafted to maintain clarity while highlighting each character’s unique attributes, ensuring players have an engaging and seamless selection process before diving into battle.

STAGE SELECTION SCREEN
Additionally, I designed the stage selection screen, where players can choose from six dynamic multiplayer stages: Zern Garden, Doodle Doo Dojo, Fowlorn Ruins, Chez Marceau, Pyramids of Chicka, and Mines of Poultria. Each stage is visually distinct, creating unique environments to enhance the gameplay experience. Additionally, a special stage, Eggs Machina, is available exclusively for single-player mode, offering an exciting new challenge. The design ensures players can easily navigate and select their preferred stage, all while maintaining the game’s vibrant, playful aesthetic.


WINNING SCREEN
The winning screen in Chick Fight celebrates victory with vibrant flair. The background features the playful phrase “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner,” adding a fun and immersive touch to the moment. A central podium is designed for the victorious chicken to be placed on, showcasing the winner in style. This screen design not only highlights the achievement but also enhances the overall celebratory experience with its bold, energetic visuals that align with the game’s lighthearted and competitive spirit.
